INTEREUROPEAN YACHT DELIVERY
INTEREUROPEAN YACHT DELIVERY
A SAFE DELIVERY OF A BOAT, especially over long distances, requires many years of experience from the Skipper and a thorough inspection of the boat, rigging, electronic instruments, safety devices, power supply system, back up systems and many other "details"...
The selection of the crew, their professionalism and experience, the organization of the watch list, their duration (4-4-4) and the faithful following of the safety protocol are matters that also have to do with the experience and seriousness of the Skipper that you choose to deliver your boat.
If the sea route of the delivery presupposes sailing along the Eyropean Atlantic coast and indeed during the winter, the experience and knowledge of the Skipper can prove to be crucial if the vessel is catched in an Atlantic storm. The safe ports on the European Atlantic coast are just a few, and the danger of approaching them in a storm is a dangerous decission. The delivery Skipper has to know in advance Where and How...
Even in the case of delivering a new boat, for example from French La Rochelle (Atlantic Bay of Biscay) to Greece, "new boat" is no guarantee of a safe voyage. A multi-page checklist of boat, rigging, sails, electrical system, electronic instruments, safety package, back up systems in terms of power supply, communications, rigging and so on is required.
Your boat is definitely worth a fortune and you should never leave its delivery to "The-Good-Luck-Godess"!

Dear sailors, friends, and fellow offshore travelers,
From November 2023 I present a new page with my scheduled sailing trips. On this page, you can find information about the type of trip, the port of departure and arrival, its duration, the type of vessel, and the crew that will perform it.
It is basically about the delivery of catamaran sailing boats from the Atlantic ports of France (Bordeaux, Les Sables D Olonne) to Greece (Athens). The months of operation are between December and March and the duration of the passage is about 3 to 4 weeks.
Participating sailors should have some relevant experience without a sailing diploma being necessary. Sailors participating in the voyages and those who express a desire to participate will automatically register as members of the OLYMPUS ZEUS SAILING SOCIETY which will act as a pool of candidate sailors for future voyages.
